Samplex Bulk Truck Samplers: Frequently Asked Questions…

Everything you need to know about Samplex Bulk Samplers, manufactured by TEKPRO, including how they work, why they are like no other sampler available, and the differences between the CS60, CS90 and CS6000 machines.

What is a Samplex Bulk Truck Sampler?
Samplex Bulk Truck Samplers are bulk feed and grain sampling systems manufactured exclusively by TEKPRO in the UK. The systems are designed to obtain representative samples from bulk loads delivered by truck and are used worldwide across grain, feed, seed, and powder handling facilities.
What makes Samplex different from other truck sampling systems?
Samplex samplers use a unique gravity-fed sampling system and variable aperture control. This design provides a truly representative sample from the full depth of the load. The systems also use electro-mechanical construction rather than hydraulic systems, eliminating high-pressure hydraulic hoses.
What products can be sampled?
Samplex truck probes can be successfully used on a wide range of materials, including:
  • Dry powders and milled products
  • Flour and meal
  • Seeds
  • Cereals
  • Pulses
  • Animal feed pellets
  • Wood pellets
  • Larger products such as peas and beans.
Which Samplex truck probe models are available?

We currently offer three main truck probe models:

CS6000 – A track-mounted system designed for high-throughput facilities and long vehicles, with coverage options up to 35 metres.

CS90 – TEKPRO’s best-selling telescopic truck probe, suitable for a wide range of products and facilities.

CS60 – A more basic fixed-arc truck probe intended for low to medium throughput facilities and simpler operations.

How does the Samplex sampling spear work?

The patented spear design allows product to enter the spear under gravity rather than being vacuum-drawn. This helps obtain a representative sample suitable for quality testing and analysis.
Can Samplex systems sample from the full depth of a load?
Yes.  Samplex systems provide representative samples from top to bottom of a bulk load and include bottom-of-load detection functionality.

Are Samplex samplers suitable for powders and meals?

Yes.  Samplex-type systems are well suited to powders and meals and can deliver consistent, repeatable performance in feed mill conditions.

Do Samplex samplers support ISO-compliant sampling patterns?

Yes.  The CS90 and CS6000 models offer variable and programmable sampling patterns that can be used to meet ISO 24333:2009 (E) sampling requirements.

How are samples transported after collection?

Collected samples are automatically transported to a reception chamber. A transparent viewing tube allows operators to immediately inspect the sample.

 Are Samplex systems durable?

Yes. Samplex truck probes are manufactured from galvanised steel and are designed for long service life. The CS90 has been available since 1989 and some original machines remain in operation today.
What facilities are best suited to the CS6000?

The CS6000 is intended for high-throughput intake operations handling longer vehicles. Features include:

  • Coverage options of 14 m, 21 m, 28 m, or 35 m
  • Ability to reach vehicle corners
  • 340° rotation
  • Dual-lane capability
  • Programmable sample patterns.
What facilities are best suited to the CS90?

The CS90 is designed for high-throughput sites requiring flexibility and broad product compatibility. Key features include:

  • Telescopic arm
  • 340° rotation
  • Bottom-of-load detection
  • Dual-lane capability
  • Programmable sample patterns
  • Electro-mechanical operation.
What facilities are best suited to the CS60?
